Zero Tolerance Policy

All of the Grove team have the right to be treated with decency and respect at all times. They should be able to do their jobs and have the right to care for patients without concern of being threatened, abused or attacked. In line with NHS Scotland procedures, the practice takes a zero tolerance approach to any form of abuse or aggressiveness directed towards our staff.

We expect our staff to treat every patient in a polite and courteous manner and in return we would expect that the same be shown to all staff and doctors here at Grove. Our staff take pride in the service they provide and their aim is to deliver a good service to all of our patients. However, they can only complete one task at a time and we are grateful to you for your patience whilst they go about their daily tasks.

We have a finite number of appointments available each day and our practice staff are simply following the procedures implemented by the doctors of the surgery.

Whilst we understand that a visit to the doctors can cause a patient to act out of character due to illness, worry or pain, we will not condone aggressive/abusive behaviour.

As an employer, the practice has a duty of care for the health and safety of its staff as well as a legal responsibility to provide a safe and secure environment for both staff and patients alike.  All patients are expected to behave in an acceptable manner and violent or abusive behaviour towards staff or patients may result in removal from our practice list.
