Clinics & Services

The Practice is contracted with NHS Tayside to provide essential services within core hours including appropriate examination, investigation, management and on-going treatment for registered patients and temporary residents (patients who reside within the practice boundary), suffering from acute illness, chronic disease or terminal illness and also immediately necessary treatment of any person requesting such, owing to an accident occurring within the practice area.

We have two practice nurses and one healthcare assistant working in our Grove Health Centre team. They run an appointment system and as well as working closely with the doctors and providing general nursing services, they can give advice on a variety of health issues. They run chronic disease management clinics which includes asthma and COPD, diabetes and cardiac disease clinics.  They carry out cervical screening and administer some injections.

The majority of blood tests (including some other tests eg blood pressure) are now taken at the Community Treatment and Care (CTAC) centres.  There are a number of these CTAC centres located around the city including in the Broughty Ferry area.  Patients can only attend CTAC if they have been requested to do so by a doctor/nurse from the practice. If you are asked to attend the doctor/nurse will request the relevant blood tests to be taken and provide you with the contact number to make this appointment.

Non-NHS Services

Some services provided are not covered under our contract with the NHS and therefore attract charges. Examples include the following:

  • Medicals for pre-employment, sports and driving requirements (HGV, PSV etc.)
  • Insurance claim forms
  • Letters for taking medication abroad
  • Private sick notes
  • Holiday Cancellation Forms

The fees charged are based on the British Medical Association (BMA) suggested scales and our reception staff will be happy to advise you about them along with appointment availability.
