Junior Doctors

As a training practice we often have ‘Junior Doctors’ working in the practice for periods of 4-12 months. They are qualified doctors who can investigate and treat patients; however, they remain under the supervision of the trained GPs within the practice. Do not be concerned if, during your consultation, they wish to discuss your case with a supervising GP.

Medical Students

As we are a teaching practice, we will often have both medical and nursing students sitting in and observing our GPs and nurses.  During their training, medical students will have their own appointments, which will be overseen and supervised by one of our GPs and will always see the patient as well.  We hope you will understand that their time in general practice is an important and integral part of their training, however, if you would prefer not to have an appointment with the medical student, please advise reception staff.

In House Training

The practice is closed every month between 1pm - 2pm for staff training.  There are four 'Protected Learning Time' afternoons throughout the year which gives all practice staff the opportunity of keep abreast of any changes and updates within the NHS.  These dates are posted on our website.
